Lisa Marie Presley made it clear that she was not on board with “Priscilla.”

Four months before her sudden death at the age of 54, the only child of Priscilla Presley and the late Elvis Presley expressed her displeasure with the production of Sofia Coppola’s film.

The movie, released on Nov. 3, is based on the 1985 memoir “Elvis and Me” and explores the relationship between Priscilla and Elvis, whom she began dating when she was 14 and he was 24.

According to Variety, which obtained email correspondence dating back to September 2022, Lisa Marie told the film’s director that she found the script to be “shockingly vengeful and contemptuous.”

“My father only comes across as a predator and manipulative,” Lisa Marie wrote to Coppola in one of her messages, per the publication. “As his daughter, I don’t read this and see any of my father in this character. I don’t read this and see my mother’s perspective of my father. I read this and see your shockingly vengeful and contemptuous perspective and I don’t understand why?”

The “Sinking In” singer went on to note that she would speak out against the movie and its creators including her mom, Priscilla, who is credited as an executive producer, ahead of the release.

“I will be forced to be in a position where I will have to openly say how I feel about the film,” she wrote, per Variety, “and go against you, my mother and this film publicly.”

Additionally, Lisa Marie, who passed away in January, expressed concern about the impact the project may have in the public eye.

“I am worried that my mother isn’t seeing the nuance here or realizing the way in which Elvis will be perceived when this movie comes out,” she explained, according to the outlet. “I feel protective over my mother who has spent her whole life elevating my father’s legacy. I am worried she doesn’t understand the intentions behind this film or the outcome it will have.”

The Tennessee native — who is survived by daughter Riley Keough, 34, and 15-year-old twins Harper and Finley Lockwood — also said she and her loved ones have been “drowning” over the last few years following her split from ex Michael Lockwood, whom she filed for divorce from in 2016, and the death of her son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020.

Lisa Marie also compared the movie to Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film “Elvis”, writing that she didn’t understand the “need to attempt to take my father down on the heels of such an incredible film using the excuse that you are trying to tell my mother’s story,” to Sofia, adding, “but from your very dark and jaded reality.”

As for Coppola, in response to Variety, her rep shared how she replied to Lisa Marie through email.

“I hope that when you see the final film you will feel differently,” the director wrote, per the publication, “and understand I’m taking great care in honoring your mother, while also presenting your father with sensitivity and complexity.”

E! News has reached out to A24, who only has distribution rights to the movie in the United States, and they declined to comment. E! News also reached out to reps for Priscilla, Coppola and Lisa Marie’s estate and has not heard back.

This scene may seem customary, but the visuals were created by floor-to-ceiling graphics inside the immersive Sphere. It was one of the several impressive moments during U2’s “UV Achtung Baby” residency launch show at the high-tech, globe-shaped venue, which opened for the first time Friday night.

The legendary rock band, which has won 22 Grammys, performed for two hours inside the massive, state-of-the-art spherical venue with crystal-clear audio. Throughout the night, there were a plethora of attractive visuals — including kaleidoscope images, a burning flag and Las Vegas’ skyline, taking the more than 18,000 attendees on U2’s epic musical journey.

“What a fancy pad,” said Bono, who was accompanied onstage with guitarists The Edge and Adam Clayton along with drummer Bram van den Berg. He then stared at the high-resolution LED screen that projected a larger version of himself along with a few praying hands and bells.

Bono then paid homage to the late Elvis Presley, who was a Las Vegas entertainment staple. The band has rocked in the city as far back as 1987 when they filmed the music video for “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” on the Strip during a tour in 1987.

“Look at all this stuff. … Elvis has definitely not left this building,” he continued. “It’s an Elvis chapel. It’s an Elvis cathedral. Tonight, the entry into this cathedral is a password: flirtation.”

U2 made their presence felt at the $2.3 billion Sphere, which stands 366-feet (111 meters) high and 516-feet (157 meters) wide. With superb visual effects, the band’s 25-show residency opened with a splash performing a slew of hits including “Mysterious Ways,” “Zoo Station,” “All I Want is You,” “Desire” and new single “Atomic City.”

On many occasions, the U2 band members were so large on screen that it felt like Bono intimately sang to the audience on one side while The Edge strummed his guitar to others on a different side.

The crowd included many entertainers and athletes: Oprah, LeBron James, Matt Damon, Andre Agassi, Ava DuVernay, Josh Duhamel, Jason Bateman, Jon Hamm, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Oscar de la Hoya, Henrik Lundqvist, Flava Flav, Diplo, Dakota Fanning, Orlando Bloom and Mario Lopez.

After wrapping up The Beatles’ jam “Love Me Do,” Bono recognized Paul McCartney, who was in attendance, saying “Macca is in the house tonight.” He acknowledged Sphere owner James Dolan’s efforts for spearheading a venue that’s pushing forward the live concert audio landscape with 160,000 high-quality speakers and 260 million video pixels.

The Sphere is the brainchild of Dolan, the executive chair of Madison Square Garden and owner of the New York Knicks and Rangers. He sketched the first drawing of the venue on notebook paper.

“I’m thinking the that the Sphere may have come into existence because of Jim Dolan trying to solve the problem that The Beatles started when they played Shea Stadium,” Bono said. “Nobody could hear you. You couldn’t hear yourselves. Well, the Sphere’s here. … Can you hear us?”

The U2 frontman pointed into the crowd and shouted out Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Jimmy Iovine. At one point he became emotional when he dedicated a song to the late Jimmy Buffett’s family, who were also in attendance.

Afterward Bono spoke about performing onstage for the first time without drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who is recovering from back surgery. He acknowledged Dutch drummer Bram van den Berg’s birthday and him filling in for Mullen.

“I would like to introduce you to the only man who could stand, well, sit in his shoes,” said Bono, who walked toward Berg as some in the crowd began to sing “Happy Birthday.” He handed the microphone to Berg, who offered a few words.

“Let there be no mistake, there is only one Larry Mullen Jr,” Berg said.

As U2 wrapped up the show, a bright light shined from the ceiling and the massive screen began to fill with images of birds, insects and reptiles above a lake. The band closed its first Sphere concert with “Beautiful Day,” which one three Grammys in 2001.

One month after the battle over Lisa Marie Presley‘s estate was settled, it’s facing more legal difficulties.

Naussany Investments & Private Lending, LLC a lawsuit Sept. 18 alleging that the late singer—the daughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley—failed to pay back a $3.8 million loan before her death in January.

In their filing, obtained by E! News, the company alleges that Lisa Marie Presley took out the loan in May 2018 and used her ownership stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland, her late father’s former home in Memphis, Tenn., as collateral.

Lisa Marie Presley had until May 16, 2022, to pay off the $3.8 million, according to documents provided in the lawsuit, or risk them filing the Deed of Trust that was signed and notarized under an agreement to pay off the loan by the due date.

Naussany Investments & Private Lending, LLC states in their filing that they had not had contact with Lisa Marie Presley since March 2022 and that several of their letters mailed to her business address in the Los Angeles area were refused and returned.

The group says in the lawsuit they would agree to a potential settlement arrangement that would avoid further legal action if her estate pays at least 75% of the loan balance, or $2.850 million, within 45 days.

Lisa Marie died at age 54 in January from complications resulting from small bowel obstruction, County of Los Angeles Medical-Examiner records showed. Following her death, a judge approved her eldest child Riley Keough to become the sole heir of her estate and the new owner of Graceland, ending a legal dispute over her will that her mother had brought into question.

But despite the disagreement over the estate, Priscilla Presley made it clear that she has nothing but love for her eldest grandchild.

“Riley and I are on good terms,” she explained to the Hollywood Reporter in an interview published in August. “We were never not on good terms. That was all publicity. This is private and this is not something to fool around with and say that we’re not agreeing.”

E! News has reached out to a reps for Lisa Marie Presley’s estate and Riley Keough and has not heard back.

After all, there is no bad blood to be found. In fact, just a few weeks after the “Daisy Jones & the Six” star was named sole heir of her mom Lisa Marie Presley‘s estate, Priscilla Presley shot down rumors of a strained relationship between her and Keough following her daughter’s January death.

“Riley is now the executor, which should be right, obviously, being her daughter,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published August 23. “Riley and I are on good terms. We were never not on good terms. That was all publicity. This is private and this is not something to fool around with and say that we’re not agreeing.”

In January, Priscilla — who welcomed Lisa Marie with rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley — disputed a 2016 amendment to her late daughter’s will which named Keough, along with her half-sisters Harper and Finley Lockwood as well as her late brother Benjamin, as the estate’s heirs. A judge ultimately approved Keough as the sole heir to her mother’s estate — which includes Graceland — in early August.

And for further proof she and Keough remain on good terms, Priscilla added to THR, “In fact, I’m having dinner with [Riley] tonight. We understand what needs to be done. I’m there for her. She knows that. She wants me there for her to help her.”

For her part, Keough has also previously given an update on where she and her grandmother stand following the dispute over Lisa Marie’s estate.

“Things with Grandma will be happy. They’ve never not been happy,” the “Zola” star told Vanity Fair in an interview published August 8. “She’s a beautiful woman, and she was a huge part of creating my grandfather’s legacy and Graceland. It’s very important to her. He was the love of her life. Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy.”

Keough also spoke to the family’s headspace immediately following Lisa Marie’s death.

“When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives,” the 34-year-old explained. “Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us. Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it’s complicated.”

A Los Angeles judge officially approved Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s eldest child and Elvis Presley‘s granddaughter, to become the sole heir of her late mother’s estate, according to multiple outlets.

Keough will also become the owner of Graceland, Elvis’ Memphis, Tenn. home, which Lisa Marie inherited upon his death in 1977, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The court sign-off concludes a legal dispute over Lisa Marie’s will, which Priscilla Presley—Elvis’ ex-wife and Lisa Marie’s mom—brought into question following the singer’s death in January at age 54.

Three weeks later, Priscilla filed court documents alleging there were “issues surrounding the authenticity and validity” of a 2016 amendment that appointed Keough and her half-sisters Harper and Finley Lockwood—as well as brother Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27—as the estate’s heirs.

Days later, Priscilla wrote in a statement to E! News that she remained focused on prioritizing her family amid Lisa Marie’s heartbreaking passing.

“I loved Elvis very much as he loved me. Lisa is a result of our love,” Priscilla said. “For anyone to think anything differently would be a travesty of the family legacy and would be disrespectful of what Elvis left behind in his life.”

In May, Keough, Priscilla and Michael Lockwood—the father and guardian ad litem for Harper and Finley—settled the matter privately, with the “Daisy Jones & The Six” star being named the beneficiary of Lisa Marie’s estate.

“The families are happy,” Priscilla’s attorney Ronson J. Shamoun shared with reporters outside the court hearing, per CNN. “Everyone is happy, unified, together and excited for the future.”

The following month, more details emerged about Lisa Marie’s passing. Her cause of death was revealed as complications resulting from small bowel obstruction, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical-Examiner.

Her bowel issues developed following a bariatric surgery—a weight loss procedure—according to an autopsy report obtained by NBC News. Lisa Marie’s cause of death has been ruled as natural.

“May 1st. A very special day for Elvis and I,” the “Naked Gun” franchise star captioned a black-and-white photo of the pair on their wedding day that she shared on Instagram.

“‘Memories pressed between the pages of my mind,'” she added, quoting from her late husband’s song “Memories.” She added several hashtags including  #sweetmemories and #specialday.

Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley were married from 1967 until 1973 and shared a daughter, the late Lisa Marie Presley, who died from a suspected cardiac arrest on Jan. 12 at age 54.

Elvis Presley’s life was depicted in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic “Elvis,” but the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s love story with Priscilla Presley is one fans know by heart.

The pair reportedly met in West Germany in 1959 when Elvis Presley, then the world’s biggest music star, was serving in the U.S. Army. Priscilla Presley’s stepfather, who was in the Air Force, was transferred to a base in the area.

“When we met, I was an impressionable 14-year-old. He was 24,” Priscilla Presley wrote in an 1985 essay for People. According to her, when she told the singer she was in ninth grade, he responded, “Why, you’re just a baby.”

Speaking to Larry King in 1999, Priscilla Presley said of Elvis Presley at the time of their first meeting, “I saw him at a very vulnerable time in his life. He had just lost his mother. He was grieving.”

The pair began seeing one another, with the musician soon winning over his future bride’s parents. “He came to the house and he was charming and wonderful. My family had a lot of faith in him,” Priscilla Presley told Barbara Walters for ABC in 1985.

The pair stayed in touch when Elvis Presley returned to the U.S. in 1960. By 1963, Priscilla Presley’s parents gave her permission to finish high school in Elvis Presley’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

The singer popped the question in 1966 and the couple married on May 1, 1967. They welcomed Lisa Marie Presley exactly nine months later.

In a statement issued to NBC News in February, Priscilla Presley said she was proceeding in her fight with “honesty, dignity” and “integrity.”

“I loved Elvis very much as he loved me. Lisa is a result of our love,” reads the first part of her statement. “For anyone to think anything differently would be a travesty of the family legacy and would be disrespectful of what Elvis left behind in his life.”

The former “Dallas” star’s statement suggested that an unnamed person “trying to speak on behalf” of the Presleys was “not a representative of Elvis or our family.” 

“Please allow us the time we need to work together and sort this out,” Priscilla Presley’s statement continued. “Please ignore ‘the noise.’ As I have always been there for Elvis’ legacy, our family and the fans, I will continue to forge a pathway forward with respect, honesty, dignity, integrity and love.”

As the sole heir to her father, Lisa Marie Presley created a living trust in 1993 to legally protect her assets and to determine their distribution in the case of her death.

The trust was restated in 2010 and appointed Priscilla Presley and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees, according to documents previously obtained by NBC News.

In 2016, Lisa Marie Presley’s will was amended to include her children, actor Riley Keough and her brother Benjamin Keough, as co-trustees of her estate. 

Benjamin Keough then died by suicide in 2020, leaving Riley Keough as Lisa Marie Presley’s sole trustee. 

Priscilla Presley’s attorneys outlined several alleged issues with Lisa Marie Presley’s amended will in their petition, which was filed with Los Angeles Superior Court. They say the document misspelled Priscilla Presley’s name, was also never delivered to her, and that Lisa Marie Presley’s signature “appears inconsistent with her usual and customary signature.”

The petition requests that a judge declare the 2016 amendment invalid in order to keep Priscilla Presley the estate trustee.

The 77-year-old, who is the ex-wife of music legend Elvis Presley, recently filed a petition questioning the validity of their late daughter’s will. In the court filings previously obtained by E! News, Priscilla Presley claimed there were “issues surrounding the authenticity and validity” of a 2016 amendment to the will that handed her initial position of co-trustee to Lisa Marie Presley’s two oldest kids: Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020.

Now, in a statement to E! News, Priscilla Presley seemingly touched on the legal drama. “I loved Elvis very much as he loved me. Lisa is a result of our love,” she began. “For anyone to think anything differently would be a travesty of the family legacy and would be disrespectful of what Elvis left behind in his life.”

Urging the public to “ignore ‘the noise,'” Priscilla Presley added, “As I have always been there for Elvis’ legacy, our family and the fans, I will continue to forge a pathway forward with respect, honesty, dignity, integrity and love.”

Lisa Marie Presley—who passed away on Jan. 15 at the age of 54—inherited Elvis Presley’s estate on her 25th birthday in 1993, almost 16 years after the death of her father. The trust included ownership of Graceland, the Memphis, Tenn., home where Elvis Presley and other members of his family are buried. 

According to Priscilla Presley’s petition, she and former business manager Barry Siegel were given the title of co-trustees in a living will Lisa Marie Presley wrote in 1993 and amended in 2010. However, upon the singer’s recent death, Priscilla Presley discovered that a 2016 amendment to the will had been made, which replaced her and Barry Siegel with Riley Keough, 33, and her brother as co-trustees.

Priscilla’s petition contested the validity of the amendment, noting how Lisa Marie “misspells her mother’s name” in the document and that her handwriting “appears inconsistent with her usual and customary signature.” The petition also stated Priscilla never received a copy of the 2016 amendment when Lisa Marie was still alive, as it is “required by the express terms of the Trust,” and requested that the document be deemed “invalid.”

E! News has reached out to Riley Keough and Barry Siegel’s reps for comment but has not heard back.

The actor, whose lingering Elvis Presley accent has sent the internet ablaze with questions, has finally dropped the vocal mannerisms of the late musician—at least for now.

According to “Dune” actor Dave Bautista, Butler does not sound like Elvis in the upcoming sequel, “Dune 2,” which is expected to be released in the fall. 

“I don’t know who this guy was, but it’s not Austin Butler,” Bautista told USA Today. “It’s not Elvis. His voice is different, his look is different. Everything about his demeanor is terrifying.”

He added of Butler, who will play his younger brother Feyd-Rautha onscreen, “He’s just the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet.” 

Three years ago, Butler transformed into the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll while filming Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis,” a role that earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 2023 Oscars. But even after filming wrapped—and months after the movie hit theaters in June 2022 — fans couldn’t help but notice how his sultry Southern accent lingered on.

After his speech at the Golden Globes raised eyebrows, the 31-year-old addressed the chatter backstage in the press room. “I don’t think I sound like him still, but I guess I must, because I hear it all the time,” he said. “I often liken it to when somebody lives in another country for a long time. I had three years where that was my only focus, so I’m sure there’s pieces of him in my DNA and I will always be linked to him.”

He went on to defend his apparent accent to the Los Angeles Times later that month, saying that “certain muscular habits” must still “pop up” after embodying the legend.

“If I was trying to sound like Elvis, I would sound very different right now,” he shared. “I think it’s sort of amusing to me how much people want to focus on this one thing.”

According to his own vocal coach, the mannerisms could last indefinitely.

“What you saw in that Golden Globes speech, that’s him,” Irene Bartlett told ABC’s “Gold Coast” in January. “It’s genuine, it’s not put on.”

While Butler may have shaken those traits in order to play his character in “Dune 2,” fans with suspicious minds will be keeping a close eye—and ear—on the upcoming Academy Awards on March 12.

The “Elvis” star finally thanked his former girlfriend—who he dated from 2011 to 2020—for the encouragement she gave him to play Elvis Presley, which recently landed him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

“I was with my partner at the time,” he told The Los Angeles Times on Jan. 24, referring to the person who inspired him to pursue the role. When asked if he was, in fact, speaking about Hudgens, Butler confirmed.

“That’s right,” he said. “We’d been together for so long and she had this sort of clairvoyant moment and so I really, I owe her a lot for believing in me.”

Initially, Butler referred to Hudgens as an unnamed “friend” who thought he was perfect for the role, telling The Hollywood Reporter on Jan. 10 that the idea occurred to her a month before he learned Baz Luhrmann was making an Elvis biopic.

“I was going to look at Christmas lights with a friend,” he recalled. “And there was an Elvis Christmas song on the radio and I was singing along and my friend looked over at me and goes, ‘You’ve got to play Elvis.’ I said, ‘Oh, that’s such a long shot.'”

The “friend,” as Butler called her, doubled down on the idea, telling him a couple weeks later that he needed to “figure out how you can get the rights to a script” after she heard him perform on a piano. Afterward, Butler said, his agent called with news that an Elvis movie was in the works.

He’s now dating model Kaia Gerber and Hudgens is with baseball player Cole Tucker.

At the singer’s star-studded memorial service at Graceland Jan. 22, her eldest daughter Riley Keough‘s husband Ben Smith-Petersen read to the crowd a letter his wife wrote to her late mom. “Thank you for showing me that love is the most important things in this life,” it said. “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters.”

A rep for Keough confirmed to E! News that the “Terminal List” actress, granddaughter of the late Elvis Presley, and her husband have welcomed a daughter. No further details about the child of the couple, who wed in 2015, were provided.

Keough’s tribute to Lisa Marie Presley was titled “A Letter to My Mama.” Smith-Peterson read, “Thank you for being my mother in this life. I am eternally grateful to have spent 33 years with you. I’m certain I chose the best mother for me in this world and I knew that as far back as I remember you.”

He continued reading, “I remember everything. I remember you giving me baths as a baby and I remember you driving me in my car seat listening to Aretha Franklin. I remember the way you would cuddle me and when I’d come into your bed at night, and the way you smelled. I remember you taking me for ice cream after school in Florida. I remember you singing me and my brother lullabies at night and how you would lay with us until we fell asleep.”

Lisa Marie Presley, who died Jan. 12 in Los Angeles after suffering a reported cardiac arrest at her home, was laid to rest next to her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27. Their graves are located near Elvis’.

In addition to Keough and her granddaughter, Lisa Marie is also survived by her younger daughters, twins Finley Aaron Love Lockwood and Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood, 14, as well as her brother, Navarone Garcia, and their mother, Priscilla Presley. The 77-year-old, now a great-grandmother, also spoke at the memorial, reading a note penned by one of her granddaughters, who she did not name.

“I have no idea how to put my mother into words,” she read, “Truth is, there are too many. Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero to many people all over the world, but Mama was my icon, my role model, my superhero, in much more ways than one. Even now, I can’t get across everything there is to be understood or known about her, but as she always said, I’ll do my best.'”

More than a thousand people gathered on the front lawn of Graceland on a gray, chilly Memphis morning to mourn the death and remember the life of Lisa Marie Presley, who died Jan, 12 after she was taken to a hospital in California.

Some mourners held flowers as they waited for the service to begin under the tall trees on the lawn of Graceland, the home in Memphis where Lisa Marie lived as a child with her father. The mansion, which Lisa Marie Presley owned, has been turned into a museum and tourist attraction that hundreds of thousands of fans visit each year to celebrate the life and music of Elvis, who died in 1977 at age 42.

The property in south Memphis was a place of sadness and somber memories on Sunday. The service began with the singing of “Amazing Grace” by Jason Clark & The Tennessee Mass Choir.

“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the love, compassion and support you have shown our family during this difficult time,” said a message from the Presley family written on the program for the service. “We will always be grateful.”

Among those who spoke during the service were Lisa Marie’s mother, actor Priscilla Presley; Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York; Jerry Schilling, a close friend of Elvis; and former Memphis Mayor A C Wharton, who called Lisa Marie’s parents Memphis’ royal couple and a “conduit to the throne, the keeper of the flame.”

In a soft voice, Priscilla Presley read a poem from one of Lisa Marie’s three daughters, Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood, entitled “The Old Soul,” in which she calls her mother “an icon, a role model, a superhero to many people all over the world.”

“In 1968, she entered our world, born tired, fragile, yet strong. She was delicate, but was filled with life,” Priscilla Presley read. “She always knew she wouldn’t be here too long. Childhood passes by, with a glimpse of her green eye. She then grew a family of her own.”

After reading the poem, Priscilla Presley said: “Our heart is broken. Lisa, we all love you.”

Music punctuated the service. Billy Corgan, lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins, played acoustic guitar and sang “To Sheila;” Alanis Morissette sang “Rest;” Axl Rose, of Guns N’ Roses, played piano and sang “November Rain;” and The Blackwood Brothers Quartet performed two songs.

After the service, mourners walked through Graceland’s Meditation Garden, where she was laid to rest in an above-ground grave next to her son Benjamin Keough, who died in 2020, and alongside her grandparents and great grandmother.

Wreaths and bouquets of red, white, yellow and pink flowers lined the walk up to the gravesite and the tomb itself. Fans, some teary-eyed, walked slowly by the tomb, pausing to pay their respects.

Jordan Clark, 25, traveled from Mobile, Alabama, to attend the service. She called the ceremony special and heartwarming. Clark said Lisa Marie “went through a lot” in her life and equated the service to the time when Elvis died, when “people came from all over.”

“She was born into the public, born into fame. That’s hard for some people,” Clark said. “She handled it like a champ. I think.”

Lisa Marie was 9 when her father died. She was staying at Graceland at the time and would recall him kissing her goodnight hours before he died. When she next saw him, the following day, he was lying face down in the bathroom.

After her father died, she became the sole heir of the Elvis Presley Trust, which — along with Elvis Presley Enterprises — managed Graceland and other assets until she sold her majority interest in 2005. She retained ownership of the mansion itself, the 13 acres around it and items inside the home.

A representative from Elvis Presley Enterprises has told The Associated Press that the mansion is in a trust that will go to the benefit of her children. Along with Harper, she is survived by two other daughters — Riley Keough and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood.

Riley Keough, an actor, did not speak at the service. Her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, read a statement in which she remembers Lisa Marie taking her for ice cream, bringing her tea sets from Cracker Barrel, and leaving notes in her lunchbox.

“Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity,” Riley Keough said in the statement. “I’m a product of your heart.”

Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis Presley will be laid to rest at the singer’s iconic mansion on Jan. 22, 10 days after she passed away at the age of 54. Ahead of her burial, the grounds of the superstar’s Memphis home will be opened for a public memorial service honoring the singer-songwriter and mom of four, a representative for her eldest daughter Riley Keough confirmed to E! News, noting that she, 14-year-old sisters Harper and Finley Lockwood and Lisa Marie’s mom Priscilla Presley “are grateful for the support, well-wishes and outpouring of love honoring their beloved Lisa Marie.” 

Following Elvis’ death in 1977 at the age of 42 and his father Vernon Presley’s passing in 1982, Priscilla made a similar decision to open Graceland to the public, turning the property into a destination for fans of the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll. The 14-acre grounds serve as the final resting place for Elvis, who died of a heart attack at his beloved home, his parents Vernon and Gladys Presley, and Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27.

The decision to allow the public to visit Graceland stemmed from the high estate and inheritance taxes Elvis’ family were facing after his death, with Priscilla ultimately making the decision not to sell the property. 

“I realized as it was going on that there really wasn’t any money that could support Graceland or any of the people that worked for Elvis that were still there,” Priscilla told “Billboard” in 2012. “I had decision to make to somehow save Graceland.”

40 years later, Graceland has been visited by more than 23 million people and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2006. Ahead of Lisa Marie’s memorial, go inside the iconic estate and learn some facts about one of the world’s most-visited homes:

Elvis Presley was just 22 years old when he bought his Graceland home in Memphis, Tenn., on March, 25, 1957. The singer paid $102,500 for the property, which already had its famous moniker. The home’s previous owners Dr. Thomas Moore and his wife Ruth named the mansion after Ruth’s aunt, Grace Toof, when they build the Colonial Revival style home in 1939.

 Sadly, the legend died of a heart attack at Graceland on Aug. 16, 1977, when he was only 42.

In the wake of Lisa Marie Presley’s death at age 54 on Jan. 12, Graceland will be inherited by her three daughters—Riley Keough and Harper and Finley Lockwood—a representative for Graceland confirmed to E! News.

Lisa Marie took complete ownership of the home when she turned 25 in February 1993. Graceland will also serve as the location for Lisa Marie’s final resting place, a rep for Riley confirmed to E! News. She will be buried alongside her father and her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27.

Graceland welcomes over 600,000 visitors each year and is the most famous home in America after The White House. It was named to the American National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The property offers ticketed visits for guests to see Presley’s jumpsuits and classic car collection, as well as his personal home, Vernon Presley’s business office, Presley’s trophy building, his racquetball center and the meditation garden, where the King of Rock and Roll was laid to rest.

When Presley first purchase the home it was 10,266 square feet. Today, it’s now expanded to 17,552 square feet on 13.8 acres of land. 

When the “Jailhouse Rock” singer was at the home, the weekly grocery bill was around $500, according to David Adler’s book, “The Life and Cuisine of Elvis Presley.” The specific items to be stored in the Graceland kitchen at all times included a case of Pepsi, steak, hamburger buns, cans of sauerkraut, wieners, at least six cans of biscuits, brownies, banana pudding, lean bacon, mustard, ice cream, fudge cookies, brownies, and assorted fresh fruit.

In addition to five staircases and three fireplaces, the home also has a billIards room and a lair that Presley referred to as “The Den”. Complete with a waterfall, wooden walls, a grass shag carpet and plastic foliage, fans began calling it “the Jungle Room” when Graceland was opened to public visitors in 1982.

According to Rolling Stone, Presley turned the oasis into a temporary  studio to record 16 songs that were released on 1976’s “Elvis Presley Boulevard”, “Memphis”, “Tennessee”, and 1977’s “Moody Blue.”

The official Elvis Instagram account revealed that the Heartbreak Hotel actor was “a huge TV junkie” and “actually had 14 TV screens set up all around the Graceland mansion.”

His programming of choice? “He loved to watch football,” the caption read, “and prime-time favorites like “Laugh-In”, “The Untouchables”, “The Tonight Show” and The “Match Game.”

Though Presley and Priscilla Presley divorced in 1973, she became a co-executor of Graceland after the 1979 death of the singer’s father, Vernon Presley. She has been instrumental in keeping the estate up and running as a tourist destination and her ex one of the highest-earning deceased celebrities of all time. 

Presley died Jan. 12 at the age of 54 after she was rushed to the hospital when she experienced a cardiac arrest. Graceland will also host a memorial for Presley on the front lawn of the mansion on Jan. 22.

Presley, who was the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, inherited the mansion and 14-acre estate after her father’s death in 1977, when she was 9 years old.

She was married four times and had four children. She is survived by three daughters. She shared her oldest child, Riley Keough, 33, with ex-husband Danny Keough. The couple also were parents to son Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.

Presley also had twins Harper and Finley, 14, with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.

“Riley, Harper, Finley, and Priscilla are grateful for the support, well-wishes, and outpouring of love honoring their beloved Lisa Marie,” a family spokesman said while announcing news of the memorial.

Lisa Marie Presley will also be buried at Graceland next to her late son. She had previously discussed the challenges of moving on after Benjamin’s death.

“It’s a real choice to keep going, one that I have to make every single day and one that is constantly challenging to say the least … But I keep going for my girls,” she wrote in a 2022 essay for People.

“I keep going because my son made it very clear in his final moments that taking care of his little sisters and looking out for them were on the forefront of his concerns and his mind. He absolutely adored them and they him.”

Priscilla Presley called Lisa Marie “the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known” in a statement after her death.

News of Presley’s death was confirmed by NBC News on Jan. 12, just hours after reports that she was rushed from her home to the hospital.

Presley is the only child of rock ’n’ roll icon Elvis Presley, whom Butler portrayed in the 2022 biopic of his life called “Elvis,” directed by Baz Luhrmann and also starring Tom Hanks.

“My heart is completely shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper and Priscilla at the tragic and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie,” Butler said in a statement given to NBC News on Jan. 13. “I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared.”

“Her warmth, her love and her authenticity will always be remembered,” he added.

Just days ago, Presley spoke about Butler’s portrayal of her father to Access Hollywood while attending the Golden Globes red carpet. Praising Butler, Presley said he “absolutely” nailed his performance.

“There (are) no words to describe it. It’s just so important, that movie, on so many levels, and I’m so proud of him and Baz,” she explained, adding that Butler “got all” of her late father’s mannerisms. “I don’t know how to describe them, but…all of his mannerisms. He absolutely nailed it.”

While accepting his award for best actor in a motion picture — drama for his role in “Elvis,” Butler expressed gratitude towards Presley and her mother, Priscilla Presley, who were also at the awards.

“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla. I love you forever,” he said.

During a roundtable interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Butler spoke about a conversation he had with Presley once filming for “Elvis” had wrapped.

“It hit home when I first met Lisa Marie. I didn’t meet her until after the film,” he explained. “She hugged me with tears in her eyes and she just said, ‘Thank you.’ And then she took me upstairs, and we went into his bedroom and just sat on his bed.”

Butler went on to share that his experience with the recently deceased Presley altered his perspective on how he’s been viewed by the fans and people who never knew him quite so intimately.

“When you realize that he’s this guy that has been either thought of as this icon God-like figure or people just see him as a Halloween costume, and then it dawns on you that he’s a father and he’s a son, and he’s a husband,” he said. “So that responsibility is so huge.”

So Lisa Marie Presley sang on “Lights Out,” the lead single off her 2003 debut album “To Whom It May Concern,” a smoldering dirge for the larger-than-life legacy she inherited at 9 years old when Elvis Presley died — and a vivid nod to Graceland, her father’s beloved estate turned tourist shrine and increasingly populated mausoleum.  

“A lot of the funerals were all in this room,” Lisa Marie told Yahoo Music during a 2013 interview at Graceland, referring to the mansion’s Peacock Room. “So I think of those things. My grandfather and my father, they were right in here.”

And as she eerily alluded to in song, Lisa Marie’s childhood home will also be her final resting place after her sudden death Jan. 12 at the age of 54.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother, Priscilla Presley, said in a statement, hours after her eldest child had been hospitalized, having reportedly suffered cardiac arrest at home. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss.”

Death and grief leave no dynasty undisturbed, but there are some families that seem more touched by tragedy than others.

And since what happened to Elvis on its own would’ve been enough devastation for one family tree, consider the Presley line to have harbored more than its share of heartbreak.

Even Elvis’ birth on Jan. 8, 1935, was shadowed by death, his identical twin, Jesse Garon Presley, having been delivered stillborn 35 minutes before he entered the world.

The Presleys’ neighbors in Tupelo, Miss., where they lived in a two-room house, came together to raise $30 for the struggling family — but, concerned that 19-year-old patriarch Vernon Presley would drink it away, Gladys Presley’s friends opted to throw the new mom a baby shower instead, according to Elaine Dundy’s “Elvis and Gladys.”

Per Peter Guralnick’s 2012 biography “Careless Love,” Elvis later talked about his late brother serving as his conscience, having first started hearing what he thought was Jesse’s voice when he was 4 or 5 years old telling him to “care for other people, to put himself in their place, to see their point of view, to love them.”

Jesse was buried at Priceville Memorial Gardens in Tupelo, but there’s also a memorial stone for him on the grounds of Graceland amid the graves.

“That’s All Right,” Elvis’ first commercial single, was released July 19, 1954. With his sensual snarl, hips that couldn’t be contained, and sound that combined country twang with the rhythm-and-blues he gravitated toward at a young age — the segregated South no hindrance to his musical education — fame descended hard and fast.

But even though he was the hottest thing on two legs, and he never wanted for female attention for the rest of his life, Elvis remained the proverbial mama’s boy.

Gladys doted on her surviving son, and she kept the family together through Vernon’s frequent spates of unemployment — and an eight-month stretch in jail for check fraud.

When his recording career started to take off, Elvis made sure that neither parent wanted for anything, eventually moving them right into Graceland when he bought the eight-bedroom mansion in 1957.

But their happiness there was short-lived: Elvis was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958, and in August his parents were driving to catch a train back to Memphis after visiting their son at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, when Gladys fell ill.

Granted emergency leave, Elvis flew to Memphis a few days later and went right to her hospital bedside, according to wire reports from the time.

“She’s a desperately ill woman, but we’re a little more encouraged by her condition today,” Dr. Charles Clarke told UPI on Aug. 13, 1958, noting there was evidence of “severe liver damage.”

Gladys died on Aug. 14 at the age of 46. (One of the many Presley myths is that she was 42, Elvis’ age when he died.) She suffered a fatal heart attack, with liver failure caused by chronic alcoholism cited as a contributing factor.

The Associated Press reported that Elvis “sank to his knees beside his mother’s bed and wept.” The singer, 23 at the time, told reporters, “It broke my heart. She was always my best girl.”

He was reportedly on the verge of hysteria at her funeral, saying at the gravesite, “Good-bye, darling. We loved you. Oh God, everything I have is gone. I lived my life for you. I loved you so much.”

Upon his return to Texas, he told the AP, “One of the last things mom said was that dad and I should always be together. I’ll report back to Fort Hood Monday morning. Wherever they send me, dad will go too.”

Elvis ended up stationed Germany, where he’d meet his future wife, then-14-year-old Priscilla Beaulieu — but legend has it he never really got over his mother’s death.

When Vernon married Dee Stanley on July 3, 1960, Elvis was not in attendance — though he entrusted his father and stepmother to help look out for his future bride when she moved to Memphis to finish high school. Priscilla had met Vernon in Germany, Elvis’ dad going everywhere he went, per Gladys’ wishes.

“People have said, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe your parents let you go with this stranger,'” Priscilla reflected on “Good Morning America” in 2017. “But it was a very innocent time. I liked him very much. I certainly felt safe.”

And when Vernon spent the occasional night in his old bedroom at Graceland, he did so next to a closet still full of Gladys’ clothes. No matter where he was in the country, Elvis had flowers delivered to his mother’s grave every week and made sure the site was neatly maintained.

Priscilla was 22 when she married Elvis on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas. Lisa Marie was born exactly nine months later.

When Elvis saw their daughter for the first time, “he was already in love with her,” Priscilla wrote in her 1985 memoir “Elvis and Me.” “He watched me holding her and his eyes misted with happiness. Then he took us both in his arms and held us.”

But Priscilla noted the “disquieting” effect that her becoming a mother had on her husband. Two months after she’d given birth, she wrote in her diary, “he still hasn’t touched me. I’m getting concerned.”

He eventually did, but she could tell that something had changed between them, that Elvis saw her differently.

At the same time, he saw other women exactly the same as he always had — available and not connected in any way at all to his other life as a husband and father.

“Elvis kept up his lifestyle,” Priscilla told Closer in 2017. And she tried to ignore it, “for as long as I could. But I did know that there was some finagling going on.”

However, the raging success of his first month of performances at the International Hotel in Las Vegas in 1970 “brought a new vitality to our marriage,” Priscilla recalled in her book. “He seemed a different person… It was also the first time that I felt we were functioning as a team.”

When they were apart, Priscilla would send him care packages full of family photographs and tapes of Lisa Marie sounding out new words. And when she came to town, “I’d paste photos on the mirrors in his bedroom to remind him he had a wife and child.”

During the early days of his residency, she continued, Elvis — who hadn’t performed live in nine years before agreeing to play Vegas — actually seemed humbled by the adoration, and he was too devoted to rehearsing and putting on the best show possible to show interest in “outside affairs or flirtations.”

But, in Priscilla’s opinion, his domestic life was ultimately no match for the love he was getting from the crowds and, once again, amorous fans.

It wasn’t the cheating that ultimately put the stake in the marriage, though. Priscilla was mainly tired of having an absentee husband, and Elvis’ volatility when they were together — exacerbated by prescription drug abuse, and all the enablers who ostensibly worked for him but whose main job was to cater to his whims — didn’t help matters.

“If he saw somebody he didn’t like on the TV, he’d get his gun out and blow it up,” Priscilla recalled on “Good Morning America” last year. “Then he would tell his daddy to go get another TV.”

And eventually Elvis suggested to her that she come to Vegas less often.

Their divorce was finalized Oct. 9, 1973. Though Priscilla recalled a few months of bitter proceedings, they agreed amicably to shared custody of Lisa Marie, and so the child started splitting her time between Graceland and her mom’s home in Los Angeles. Elvis christened his private plane the “Lisa Marie.”

Talking to Yahoo Music in 2013, Lisa Marie recalled being bitten by the performance bug early, her dad watching her sing her heart out, using his hairbrush as a microphone, in his massive walk-in closet at Graceland. 

Priscilla told People in 1978 that she continued to go to Graceland with Lisa Marie “like we were never divorced. Elvis and I still hugged each other, still had love. We would say ‘Mommy said this’ and ‘Daddy said that.’ That helped Lisa to feel stable. There was never any arguing or bitterness.”

When Elvis died at Graceland of an apparent heart attack on Aug. 16, 1977, when he was only 42, Priscilla recalled wanting to die, too.

“I could not face the reality that I would never see him alive again,” she wrote in “Elvis and Me.” “He had always been there for me. I depended on him, just as he depended on me. We had a bond. We’d become closer and had more understanding and patience for each other than in our married life. We had even talked of one day…”

“And now he was gone.”

Lisa Marie was 9 and staying at Graceland when her father died just hours after kissing her goodnight, the last time she saw him alive. Though Elvis’ girlfriend at the time, Ginger Alden, was the one who discovered his body, his daughter also glimpsed him lying facedown on the bathroom floor. Toxicology testing found 14 drugs, including barbiturates, in Elvis’ system, forever linking his untimely death to chronic drug use.

“I just had a feeling,” Lisa Marie told Rolling Stone in 2003. “He wasn’t doing well. All I know is I had it, and it happened. I was obsessed with death at a very early age.”

Though she recorded several technologically aided “duets” with her dad over the years, 2003’s “To Whom It May Concern” marked her solo debut.

“You want to know who I am, and what I am, it’s in here,” she told Rolling Stone of the album. “This is how either f—– up I am, or crazy or deranged or stupid or whatever you want to call it. This is me, and it’s from me, and that’s the only reason I did it.”

She had welcomed daughter Danielle (the actual first name of actress Riley Keough, who goes by her middle name), in May 1989, and son Benjamin in October 1992 with her then-husband Danny Keough.

“The smartest thing I’ve ever done is have children with this man, because I knew this is the one man I could be connected to for the rest of my life,” Lisa Marie said of her ex.

After her divorce from Keough, Elvis’ daughter infamously married Michael Jackson, the newlyweds thumbing their nose at people’s confusion with a big kiss at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards that September. 

“I always liked him,” Presley later told Jackson biographer Randy J. Taraborrelli. “Michael fascinated me with his talent. I loved watching him dance. He wanted to know me better, but I always thought he was sort of freakish. I didn’t really want to know him any better than I already did.”

Their union lasted less than two years. Jackson died of a propofol overdose in 2009 at the age of 50.

Lisa Marie also tried marriage on for size with Nicolas Cage in August 2002, but he filed for divorce that November, saying in a statement, “I did not talk about the marriage and I am not going to talk about the divorce. But I loved her.”

Her statement read, “I’m sad about this, but we shouldn’t have been married in the first place. It was a big mistake.”

Talking to Rolling Stone a few months later, Lisa Marie said the marriage was “still hanging on a thread, and I’m not sure what’s going on, and I’d rather not talk about it just because of that.”

“I was a tyrant as a kid, and then I had babies and settled down,” she reflected to Playboy in an interview published July 30, 2003. “Recently, in the past six years, I’ve gotten back in touch with my inner tyrant teenager. My friends were all out being crazy at 20, and I had babies. Now they’re married and I’m like, ‘Look at you, you’ve got it together and I don’t!'” Her divorce from Cage was reportedly finalized in 2004.

Lisa Marie re-settled down with musician Michael Lockwood in 2006, with whom she welcomed fraternal twin daughters Harper and Finley in 2008.

She filed for divorce (later amended to legal separation) in 2016.

Seemingly having experienced enough for nine lives by the time she was 50, Lisa Marie was faced with the unthinkable when her son, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27. Her rep said at the time that Lisa Marie was “completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Three months later, Benjamin was laid to rest in the Memorial Garden at Graceland, next to Elvis, his great-grandparents Gladys and Vernon (who died in 1979) and great-great-grandmother Minnie Mae Presley.

“Grief is something you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, in spite of what certain people or our culture wants us to believe,” Lisa Marie wrote in an essay for People published on Aug. 30, 2022, National Grief Awareness Day. “You do not ‘get over it,’ you do not ‘move on,’ period.”

She admittedly blamed herself, a constant struggle.

“I’ve dealt with death, grief and loss since the age of 9 years old. I’ve had more than anyone’s fair share of it in my lifetime and somehow, I’ve made it this far,” she continued. “But this one, the death of my beautiful, beautiful son? The sweetest and most incredible being that I have ever had the privilege of knowing, who made me feel so honored every single day to be his mother? Who was so much like his grandfather on so many levels that he actually scared me? Which made me worry about him even more than I naturally would have? No. Just no…no no no no…”

“It’s a real choice to keep going, one that I have to make every single day and one that is constantly challenging to say the least…But I keep going for my girls.”

With the opening of Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” last year, a fantastical and dazzling but still gut-wrenching film about her father’s rise and fall, Lisa Marie had started to venture back out into public life, attending the movie’s U.S. premiere at Graceland in June with Priscilla and Riley.

She wrote on Instagram that she had wished her son could’ve seen “Elvis,” calling it “nothing short of spectacular.” Benjamin “would have absolutely loved it as well.”

On Jan. 10, two days after a visit to Graceland to observe what would’ve been her father’s 88th birthday, she and Priscilla attended the Golden Globes as part of the ongoing “Elvis” party. 

“I actually had to take like five days to process it, because it was so spot on and authentic,” Lisa Marie told Extra on the red carpet before watching Austin Butler win Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for his uncanny portrayal of her father.

“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” Butler said during his acceptance speech, his sonorous Memphis drawl from the film still intact. “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”

Two days later, Lisa Marie was gone. And, as she predicted, her forever home at Graceland is waiting.

While attending the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10, Lisa Marie Presley—who was the only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley—sang Butler’s praises for his portrayal of her father in Baz Luhrmann‘s “Elvis” biopic.

“He’s such a sweetheart—an authentic, true sweetheart,” Lisa Marie Presley, 54, told Access Hollywood on the red carpet. “And just as good off-screen as he is on screen.”

When asked if Butler, 31, crushed his performance as the music icon, she said, “Absolutely. Even the throat, he’d make these noises sometimes and he got all of it. He absolutely nailed it.”

Butler later returned the love after he took home the award for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture.

“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” he said during his acceptance speech. “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”

According to an eyewitness inside the Golden Globes, Lisa Marie Presley and her mom appeared to be in good spirits. 

“They were having a sweet mom and daughter night out,” the insider shared with E! News. “They seemed happy as if they were having a nice evening.”

The awards ceremony would mark Lisa Marie Presley’s final public appearance. On Jan. 12, her mother confirmed that she had passed away.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement to People. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

Priscilla Presley concluded, “We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed crews responded at 10:37 a.m. to a home in the 5000 block of Normandy Drive in Los Angeles’ west San Fernando Valley. The department described the patient only as a woman in mid-50s, suffering cardiac arrest. Responders were able to find a pulse, and she was transported by ambulance, officials told NBC News.

“She is now receiving the best care,” Priscilla Presley shared on Facebook shortly after the news broke. “Please keep her and our family in your prayers.”

Lisa Marie Presley shared her 33-year-old daughter Riley Keough and her late son Benjamin Keough with ex-husband Danny Keough. She also had 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.

After Benjamin Keough died by suicide at the age of 27 in July 2020, Lisa Marie Presley opened up about how she planned to heal and move forward for her kids.

Presley, 54, is the daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She attended Tuesday night’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony with her mother at the Beverly Hilton.

Days Before Her Death, Lisa Marie Presley Attended Golden Globes to Support Austin Butler

Lisa Marie was at the Golden Globes on Tuesday to support Austin Butler, who won the best actor in a Drama award for playing her father in director Baz Luhrmann’s film “Elvis.” Just days before, she was in Memphis at Graceland — the mansion where Elvis lived, and died — to celebrate her father’s birth anniversary on Jan. 8.

She followed in her father’s footsteps professionally, releasing her own rock albums in the 2000s, and appearing on stage with Pat Benatar and Richard Hawley among others.

Her birth on Feb. 1, 1968, nine months exactly after her parents’ wedding, was international news.

Lisa Marie was 9 years old when her father died in August 1977. She told Rolling Stone in a 2003 interview that she was home with him at Graceland and “had a feeling” something was wrong when he kissed her good night. The following morning, he was found dead facedown in the bathroom.

“All I know is I had it [a feeling], and it happened,” she told Rolling Stone. “I was obsessed with death at a very early age.”

Over the next few decades, Lisa Marie made headlines of her own, with struggles with drug abuse and some very public marriages. Her four husbands included Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.

Presley had two children with former husband Danny Keough, actor Riley Keough, born in 1989, and Benjamin Keough, born in 1992. Benjamin Keough died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27. Presley was vocal about her grief, writing in an essay last August that she had “been living in the horrific reality of its unrelenting grips since my son’s death two years ago.”

She also had twin daughters, Harper and Finley Lockwood, with ex-husband Michael Lockwood in 2008.

Her marriage to Lockwood would end in a combative and protracted divorce that began in 2016 and still was not resolved when she died, though they were declared single in 2021. The fight saw the girls, now 15, put temporarily in protective custody in 2017. Presley and Lockwood later had joint custody, but were still at odds over the issue, with Lockwood seeking more child support from Presley.

Lisa Marie became the sole heir of the Elvis Presley Trust after her father died. Along with Elvis Presley Enterprises, the trust managed Graceland and other assets until she sold her majority interest in 2005. She retained ownership of Graceland Mansion itself, the 13 acres around it and items inside the home. Her son is buried there, along with her father and other members of the Presley family.

Lisa Marie Presley is a former Scientologist — her son was born in 1992 under guidelines set by Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, according to an AP story at the time — but later broke with Scientology.

Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley would make regular trips to Graceland during huge fan celebrations on the anniversaries of Elvis’ death and birthday. One of the two airplanes at Graceland is named the Lisa Marie.

It’s no secret that the former teen star’s voice sounded almost identical to that of the King in “Elvis,” but even months after the film was released, the tone remains the same.

During an interview on the red carpet at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday, Jan. 10, Butler addressed remarks on his voice shift, telling Laverne Cox that it’s “hard for me to talk about.”

“It’s sort of like you’re a kid and you’re growing that’s why you have to draw lines on the wall,” he said. “I can’t really reflect on it too much it’s just this process that I don’t know the difference.”

Tuesday night, Butler won his first Golden Globe for best actor in a drama motion picture for his role in “Elvis” — a part for which he prepared by studying the ’50s and ’60s icon for two years, according to Priscilla Presley.

In an interview at the 80th award ceremony, the music legend’s wife expressed her approval of Butler’s portrayal of her husband, adding that “Elvis would probably be pretty impressed — really, truly.”

“The voice was down to a tee. I mean I … couldn’t believe it. I truly couldn’t believe it,” she said.

Priscilla Presley recalled that the “Elvis” actor took both voice and singing lessons leading up to the movie, as Butler sang all the classic tunes while filming.

Still, even amid the actor’s big win, viewers seemed distracted by the deep vocal tone, taking to social media about the seemingly continued Presley impersonation.

Twitter user @schmvngpctrs tweeted, “Austin Butler still stuck in his Elvis voice,” with three skull emojis.

Meanwhile, other users like @JomiAdeniran shared old clips of Butler during his teenage acting career when his voice was significantly higher.

Chris Schleicher joked on Twitter that Butler’s newfound voice is comparable to when parents tell their kids not to cross their eyes or they’ll get stuck like that.

However, some are fully embracing the change and coming to the star’s defense. User @DEVINEFEMININE passionately tweeted, “STOP TELLING AUSTIN BUTLER TO SPEAK IN HIS NORMAL VOICE!! I LIKE IT!! A LOT!!”

User @morgannychloe is clearly also a fan, tweeting, “Now that Austin Butler has won, I can finally admit: I find his voice attractive as hell.”

Sony Pictures Animation released new cover art for its upcoming Netflix adult animation series, “Agent Elvis.”

The poster was shared on Twitter, wishing the King of Rock and Roll a happy birthday in the caption, which happens to be the date of the poster’s release, Jan. 8.

According the show’s Netflix site, “Agent Elvis” is about a scenario in which “Elvis trades in his jumpsuit for a jetpack when he joins a secret government spy program to help battle the dark forces that threaten the country.”

Few details have been confirmed for the project, which was previously titled “Agent King,” but fans on Twitter were not shy to express what they hoped to see in the rock-and-roll spy thriller.

“Hope they cast Austin Butler as Elvis, just like the live action movie, otherwise I’m going to be really disappointed,” Twitter user Esther Barbero commented.

Butler played Presley in last year’s motion picture “Elvis,” which received three Golden Globe nominations for this year’s award show, including Best Motion Picture, Drama.

No release date has been announced for “Agent Elvis.”

The 80th Golden Globes airs on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.

Now, the Palm Springs home that Elvis and Priscilla Presley rented for a year just after their marriage in 1967 is hitting the market for $5,600,000.

Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll himself, leased the home at 1350 Ladera Cir. for a year, originally planning to use it as the venue for his wedding to Priscilla, according to Vanessa Villatoro, spokeswoman for Compass realty.

But when the press heard about the wedding, the couple snuck out and flew to Las Vegas for a private wedding instead. They flew back to the Palm Springs house — leased for $21,000 for the whole year — for their honeymoon.

Until recently, the house was used for tours, but now that it’s up for sale with a listing held by Compass agent Marc Sanders, at least one of the websites for those tours says Elvis “has left the building,” with a message saying “tours are no longer available, thank you very much.”

The house is in a Palm Springs neighborhood known for its mid-century architecture, and was constructed by renowned mid-century developer Bob Alexander, for himself and his family in 1960, Villatoro said.

The 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom, 4600-square-foot property earned the “House of Tomorrow” title from a magazine feature in a 1962 edition of Look Magazine, which showcased the futuristic design.

“The spaceship-like dynamic winged roofline shelters four circular pods with the center of the house fanning out from the dramatic stepped waterfall,” the description included in the Compass listing says. “A raised dining platform unfolds seamlessly through a wall of glass to the expansive exterior terracing, pool, and breathtaking mountain views.”
